Recent Spate of Scam/Spam Profiles

Hi All,

As you may be aware the site has been targeted by Spam/Scam profile lately.  We are working to remove these profiles and we appreciate your patience at this time.  Please refrain from reporting these profiles as this only adds to the moderators workload.

Hope it will end soon all the spam profiles

It's a challenge.  Currently they're creating a new profile every 90 seconds.

I just jumped into the New Members ads in Personals and it’s looking great, team.   Whatever you’re doing must be working (to my uneducated eye).

Again, as most of you will have noticed, the spammers are back at it again. Please bear with us as we try to deal with them. We again ask that you refrain from reporting them as this just creates more of a burden for the Admin and Mod team

 Not really. Not reporting them is most appreciated. Even the moderators are struggling to keep on top of it all. We are hoping Admin can come up with a tech solution. 

Can you not just block the ip’s ? It’s clear they are all being created from a certain country. Maybe block that country all together? 
I know my website ( totally not related to the swinging world) has that function.

They are using ip's from all over the world and constantly changing those.

Can you put in NZ based questions?

 Why don't you guys just ignore it and let admin deal with it, sounds like way too much admin without a wage haha.. They might even speed up the urgency.. 

From what I could see in the new ad section they all seem to be pretty similar so easy to spot and avoid.

Really appreciate the hard work y'all are putting in to counter these assholes.

Again, the spammers rear their annoying heads and are attempting to gain access to the site.  The moderators will ban them as soon as we see them and we have systems that flag them for us as soon as they log on, however moderators cannot be active 24/7 so occasionally they will be visible to members.  Please refrain from reporting them as this only increases the workload when dealing with them.

UPDATE;

As some of you are aware we are still getting hit by these scammers/spammers. On average we are seeing 10 fake profiles created every day. We do have processes to identify these accounts, but to intercept them before they "like" or try and contact our members requires a Moderator or Admin to be online when the fake profiles are created and we can't be here 24/7. But I believe we are catching about 80% of them before they can cause any annoyance.

We are getting quite a few complaints, and we acknowledge that this is frustrating, trust me when I say it is even more frustrating for the moderator team. But compared to a few months ago the situation is much better. Recent changes to the site have meant that the spammers cannot upload media straight into the gallery and a new detection system is working well.

I am still seeing some members trying to contact these spammers. Please don't engage with them, even if it is to hurl abuse at them which I know is very tempting. The spammers are targeting older, single males and sadly, some actually think these are genuine women who are interested in them. The dating scam/spam business is very lucrative, as I previously stated above; this is being carried out by real human beings who are being paid to create these profiles across all the Swingers Heaven sites in the world, not some 'bot' software.

It's definitely cathartic to give them a bit of shit (which I've been doing when one like me), but i guess it's a case of any engagement proving to the scammers that their methods are effective getting through to real people? I'll stop doing it in that case 👌

Another reminder, please refrain from reporting the obvious spam profiles. We know that they are annoying but we have systems in place to detect them and remove them quickly. What we don't have, however, is a way to deal with 10-15 Abuse Reports that are created for each spam profile.

A quick calculation shows that for just 3 spam profiles we have to deal with 30-45 abuse reports.

We do really appreciate your patience, the Moderator team would genuinely walk over broken glass to get the spammers to go away permanently.
