Warming the Bed
Hi there Did anyone here go to the couples and single females party at Silverado last Saturday (15th of February)? How was it? Was it different from the parties where single guys are let in? Either answer here or PM us. Thanks! 64and80couple

[quote:3d1056dbba="JnA"]You correctly identified the issue in your first post. Nothing happens without a hard working dedicated resiliant organiser willing to take a risk and stick with it. The work that anj puts into the auck meet is significant but totally worth it. Wellington just needs more people ready to step up. Build it and they will come smile.[/quote:3d1056dbba] Thanks JnA Your support is always helpful. If I could get at least three couples and maybe some single females to come to a coffee and chat session (aka munch) then we might have the start of something in Wellington. There are plenty of places in Wellington to have munches. However if we can't get a small number of couples and single females to turn up for coffee, a chat and maybe some planning then we would know that things won't work whatever we try. However if we get a few people along then we could plan for a small party at a motel or house and see how things develop from there... regards 64and80couple

[quote:04a8120e39="Cassie_Tom"]We're another couple who attended a couple of swingers events at Emperor's - had a bit of fun but the lack of people was certainly disappointing. Wellington is an odd place as far as swingers are concerned - seems to be a lot of hard work to get to meet other couples. Perhaps some of the "couples" on this site aren't really couples. Always happy to meet other couples for a drink and see how that goes. Surely there are others on this site keen for the same thing?[/quote:04a8120e39] Hi there Yes it seems that Wellington is a hard place to organise things. Too many 'trolls' ruining things.

You've just said what we've been thinking for a long time.. the parties failed because very few couples went-we did, but eventually we got harrassed by single guys and the pool of couples dried up. it was THE BEST venue ever, we have not been to anything like it before or since and it is being wasted! All we heard were a bunch of sorry excuses.. or as is often referred to on here "time wasters".
We WANT to meet genuine couples but it seems they aren't out there,at least in Wellington..
I'm still not sure what people are afraid of?
Thank you for trying-we really appreciate your efforts! smile

Thank you for your kind remarks. Hopefully someone else will try and succeed.
For now we are going to stick with the kink crowd.
All the best

Because of lack of interest we won't be helping restarting swinger nights at Emperor's sauna (now called Steamworx). Now I want to have a quick rant while my good lady gets ready for work... We are also involved in the fetish/kink/polyamory community in Wellington. These groups are highly organised, fun and intellectually stimulating. They have regular events and parties as well as munches (for socialising and to introduce new people to the scene) and workshops. Wellington is becoming a centre for kink events and at the moment there are so many events that all the leaders have to keep in contact to make sure that events don't clash. There is a once a month kink event called 'Beat and Greet' at Steamworx at which 150 + plus people turn up. The owners of Steamworx are very keen for the kinksters to keep turning up because they generate so much MONEY! Remember money is power. The TES (The Endorphin Society) munch alone has 40-50 people turn up once a month to eat, drink and talk. Now for the non-existent swinger community... No munches, no events, no leadership, no interest and no fun. If it wasn't for the internet I suspect that it would consist of old men in white shoes and shirts with large collars. A few stats might illustrate the point. Last year we advertised the parties at Emperors, we got 551 views and 1 reply, this year we tried again. We got 115 views and 2 replies (one from a single male who wanted us to hook him up with a female). Is this really a community of single men and single men pretending they are couples? We have the chance of having the largest potential swinger venue in New Zealand and we are not going to use it.
