Around Hastings/Napier probably the easiest option would be Ocean beach. Stop on roadside before dropping down the hill to scope it out. Go to the left as far as you need to. There's about 9 km of beach. Almost all the beaches above Napier you'll find quiet and easily find somewhere to relax and play. Have a great time.
