I have been asked to pass on some very sad news to our members.
A much loved member Dodgey1 passed away on the 2nd April 2011.
His funeral was held at 3pm in Dunedin on the 8th April 2011.
Dodgey was a huge part of our community and will be sorley missed by many here and remembered for a long long time by those he met online and in real life.
Our hearts go our to Dodgey's family and friends.

If any members need someoen to talk to on reading this please feel free to message me in chat or send me a mail. Dodgeys brother Smoothas will also check his mail but please be patient for responses as obviously his family is in a lot of pain right now.

As others have said, Dodgey was such a gentleman, and a tease, a better tease than most women lol.
He loved mountain biking and he loved his child too, he will be sorely missed by myself and many others in the chatroom

Words can not express how much I am sadden by this news. I'm absolutely shattered.
Dodgey was such a sweet man and incredibly easy to talk to.
His love for his son was such a breath of fresh air. His retro wallpaper will ALWAYS make me giggle (Goodness knows how many times him and I had a laugh over this)
I'll miss you Dodgey. That contagious smile of yours will never be replaced.

Smoothas ( Dodgey's brother ) called today to let me know that Dodgey's funeral will be this friday at 3pm in Dunedin.
He has said that if anyone would like to know more information to please contact him through the site mail.
Today has been a hard day on everyone i think learnign this horribly sad news. Can i please ask for everyone to be mindful that Dodgey was very important to some of our fellow members in chat and to please be respectful during any conversations in regards to this post and Dodgey's passing.
For me, Dodgey was an amazing man. I remember many conversations when he just knew something was troubling me and with his caring and wit he would draw it out of me and make me feel so much better. I deeply regret not knowing him in person but hope he knows just how much he meant to me as a far away friend.

As a fellow Dunedinite, Both mrs Southern and I were sadden to hear of Dodgeys passing.

Just read the news, and I'm shocked. I've chatted with Dodgey just recently, and I thought that he had a good wit and a great sense of humour. I'm sad that I won't have the pleasure of chatting with him again.

I was waiting to hear back from smoothas but I am sure they wont mind ( and have confirmed with admin)
This Friday night I will open up a Dodgey memorial chat room, unpassworded, for those who wish to pop in and have a chat about what a great guy and friend he was.
Feel free to pop in, or not of course too.
All I ask is that the room is used for the purpose it was intended. It will be moderated of course but I dont want to have to be kicking people out of course.

Smooths I know many of us continue to think of your brother often and would like to say a huge thank you to you as well for giving our messages to him. You are a fabulous couple and we are always around if needed.
I never heard about him, however I came to know about his part in this community.
I would say I am unlucky to had a chance to see him as a person, but hey GOD (in my words Giver, Operator, Destroyer) won't keep good person here because they have to be by the side of him to know better about this wonderful world
