Hi fellow newbies!
Having relatively recently begun our journey in this exciting new world, we came across a podcast we wish we'd known about sooner. Thank you so much to the lovely couple - if they read this they will recognise themselves 😉 - who recommended it to us! We discovered later there were many other podcasts but we haven't tried them yet: if you find one interesting, feel free to add it below with a short intro!
So, we'd like to introduce the podcast we have started listening to and found quite relevant : "We Gotta Thing", where "Mr and Mrs Jones" share their stories, sometimes helped by other couples. They open up about their experiences, the highs and the lows, their vulnerabilities, their discussions and what they felt and discovered on the way. Their initial approach to this world was very different to ours (and as everyone has a different approach it will certainly be different to yours!) but the feelings they talk about are definitely relatable and helped reveal or confront ours!
During our first experiences - not only the first ones actually, we take every time as a first time! - we went through so many emotions whether individually or as a couple... We had never imagined it would be that powerful!! Even if there are a lot fewer taboos in this world, it was still not that easy to open up about all these sometimes profound feelings between ourselves, and even less between us and the other couples. So it was very refreshing and interesting to hear "the Jones" talk about their stories and sometimes help us find the words to put on these feelings. It's especially true for some of the things that may get in the way of full enjoyment (because there are definitely some ... hi Mr Stress, hello Ms Jealousy!) and hearing another couple openly talk about these is a great help to acknowledge and ultimately resolve these issues and make the next experiences even better!
As they started 10 years ago there are loads of episodes but they are fairly independent so it's easy to pick a topic that is relevant to what you want to hear! We would highly recommend these to our 1-year-ago selves!!
Here is the link: . Enjoy!
