The media can be a double edged sword at times depending on the reporter you get. A while back I did a couple of interviews. One for Newshub and the other for Vice Magazine. The trick to them is to ensure you can control the interview and be prepared for the potential for negative questions. With negative questions come back with an answer that is comical and makes lite of things as if you do not answer they tend to make things up, and if you get caught out on a question that is asked it is often to redirect the question in a way that has the reporter answering it themselves.
