Why not have an iggy function in chat where you can ignore someone in main where it also would also mean that they cannot view your cam.

I know this has been discussed before but there are some members who enjoy camming and would like to cam more but won't because they have not got the function of being able to ignore one or two people.

I think it would be of benefit to most members and there are other sites that do use such a function.

just my $0.2 but i personally think that if ppl want to cam in public then the public should be able to view. If ppl want to only cam for certain ppl they should create a private room and invite those ppl in.

In addition of course alterations to the system take time and this i would think would be a total work around and may affect not just ks but our sister sites as well.

i also think it is a good idea i have had to block a few people but they still get to see me on cam if i turn it off makes me think twice about turning on my cam bring on the iggy function would make alot more people think about camming if they had this .I just think if you been blocked you should be blocked for any sort of contact with the person blocking you that includes cams icon_smile.gif

If I block a person then its for a good reason and not just for the hell of it. And if you want to cam in the main room, then you should be able to do so freely without having to worry about people your not comfortable with watching. There have been a few occasions for us when we would have cammed, but chose not to, because of who was online. Sure, its a public site and people should have the right view everyone's cam's, but some people are just down right creepy or not who they say they are. Hmmm a tricky one I think!

Ill just make mention that the Parent site over in the UK does not have this functionality nor as im aware does the aussie site.
BOTH of those are substantially larger (the UK site tipping in at over 1 million users) and they seem to function perfectly fine.
Yep its an ok suggestion but not sure that it will see the light of day anytime soon as if larger sites can function perfectly fine without it, its unlikely to be seen here.

As i mentioned when this was raised in this thread i personally don't think its necessary. People just need to use the sites functionality a lot more.

I seriously suggest that this be done as there are some people making it uncomfortable for others. It should be able to block the person in total from seeing anything of you. after the weekend we had a guy terrorizing the mrs and he needs to be booted

rwbull did you put a report in to mods ? We are here to help in these sorts of situations and if we are not non the site at the time all you need to do is to use the report feature on the offenders profile.

i reckon blocking would be a welcomed thing also, I get sick of gay/bi guys constantly pm'ing me and seeing a list half full of annoying guys when its just me (mrA) on is a little annoying. I dont report them as they pm a few times then leave but if they're still watching im not going to keep things rolling and others miss out...or have there eyes saved from me blinding them, either way you look at it. if we block them for being idiots they shouldnt be able to see us while camming. there will be more cams and better cams because of this I think. just my view.

While i understand some of yours wish for this, ill just point out this:

As per http://www.kiwiswingers.co.nz/chatroom/chatrules.html:

Using or viewing webcams
By using a webcam you give consent for others to watch what is displayed on it.

As this is an express rule i doubt this will be considered anytime soon.

Just an FYI.

Hi

I appreciate the views put forward thus far on this topic.

I have only one person I want to be able to block from seeing me cam. They have eluded facts to me that only people that I know should know.

I have never met this person and was spooked when I found out these details about myself from him. He would have had to do a fair bit of "digging and effort" to find out this information.

Presently, I have a choice. To cam or not to cam.

I choose not to cam when he is on line. My hesitation the rest of the time is that I may be on camera and not realise he is watching.

While I realise there are risks with camming, I did not anticipate this sort of thing.

I have blocked him from talking to me when he is in the chat room, and have reported his profile via a mod.

During my (short) journey on this site thus far, I have found that I enjoy camming - for more than one reason - the main one being people know who I am and what I look like. I am reluctant to personally invite up to 99 people to a private room.

Living with a what you see is what you get philosophy, I feel that camming is the best way to portray what I am about.

My preference is that when i block someone from chatting to me, they are blocked fully from "interacting" with me - apart from in the main chat room, where conversations are very public.

I would be interested to know if he is blocked by me once on chat, do I need to re-block him each time he is on chat.

Regards
Beth
